Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0820hrs 1-20 Infantry from Up Lift 4 to Sidney Wonder he is personally investigating Village that has lost weapons. At 1140hrs at BS892211 reference ARVN on Bridge 94, who was beaten up, he was and 7 other villagers were taken to BS892211 to search area. VC had M-16, 45 pistol and carbines. At 1145hrs Air Strike at BS718386 Recon by Fire on hill there was activity on hill and observed some packs. At 1410hrs Command and Control Helicopter at BS713433 observed a carrying party, women en route to mountains along Highway 515 moving west to east. At 1-20 Infantry at BS816403 reports 1 VCS WIA CIA were 4 south of river, hit one, black pants, green shirt and had documents. Also M-14 Magazine, 2 frag hand grenades, and requested Dust Off completed at 1458hrs. At 1530hrs Dog Tag element almost hit by H and I fire from Engineer. At 1823hrs Charlie Company 3-1 Infantry at BS816395 found M-72 Law extended and ready to fire and set up like a mortar to be fired on Bronco ambush has been set at this time. At 1900hrs Charlie Company 3-1 Infantry at BS780394 ran into some people we believe were the ones who fired M-16 and M-79 at US calling in artillery at this time. At 1925hrs E Troop at BS738577, at 1500hrs 1 VC evading results 1 VC KIA and at BS742577 found tunnel and 2 VC ran out black PJ, blue PJ results 2 VC KIA negative weapons or ID.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Dragon. At 1640hrs Alpha Company 41 and 21 is at BS745570 and at 1830hrs Alpha Company 23 is now at BS722522 with 44 at BS725515. 1-20 Infantry SRRP locations reports Aster BS640534, Calvin BS973360, Gale BS865296 and Dog Tag at BS912250.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 1620hrs Bravo 52 element is on bridge 124 and at 1600hrs 44 is at BS753436 and 42 at BS755429. 1-20 Infantry reports their SRRP locations Aster is at BS640534, Calvin at BS973360, Gale at BS865296 and Dog Tag at BS912250.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Thunder. At 1840hrs Charlie Company has the 55 element at BS878336 in their night ambush position. 1-20 Infantry reports SRRP locations Aster BS640534, Calvin BS973360, Gale BS865296 and Dog Tag at BS912250. SP4 Alban MacFarland was attached to 312th Evac Hospital at 1425hrs.
Delta Company

Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Charlie Brown and provided security for Bridges at 95 and 94. AT 0800hrs Delta Company had 1 ARVN came to bridge #94 vicinity BS921211 and was badly beaten up. He said that VC had beaten him taken his M-16 rifle also he stated that there are 50 VC south of Bridge. At 0815hrs Delta Company at Sa Huynh had villagers report to US that 6 carbines, 1 Thompson Sub Machine gun, were taken from PF, Delta Company has element moving into the village report approximately 20 rounds sounds like 30 caliber weapon. At 0820hrs it appears that 2 M-16 are also in the hands of the VC taken from the ARVN, more to follow, 2 men from Village taken to village in area BS9020. At 0820hrs 1-20 Infantry from Uplift 4 to Sidney Wonder he is personally investigated village that has lost weapons. At 1140hrs Delta Company Ref ARVN on Bridge 94 who was beaten up, he was and 7 other villagers were taken to BS902211 to search area. VC had M-16, 45, and carbines. At 1840hrs Delta Company has 44 on Bridge 95, 45 on Bridge 94, with 54 at BS910235. At 2025hrs observed mortar fire at BS930255, the 4 round impacted at BS918240, 500-600 meters south of Bridge # 95, negative casualties or damage. 1-20 Infantry reports SRRP locations Aster BS640534, 3-1 Infantry Calvin BS973360, 3-1 Infantry Gale BS865296 and Dog Tag at BS912250. At 2025hrs Delta Company observed mortar fire at BS930255, rounds impact at BS918240 500-600 meters south of bridge #95, negative casualties or damage.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. At 0930hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at LZ Liz and continued their Security Mission.
