At 0005hrs Radar South OP at 1910hrs at BS716456 spotted 3 to 5 stationary personnel engaged with 8 HE 105mm Artillery rounds. At 2100hrs at BS765389 spotted 3 to 5 Stationary personnel engaged with 14 HE 105 Artillery, 2330hrs at 804425 spotted 3-4 moving west engaged with 8 HE 105mm Artillery rounds. At 2350hrs at BS729422 spotted 6 to 8 stationary personnel engaged with 12 HE 105mm Artillery rounds. At 0150hrs at BS767504 spotted 3 to 5 stationary personnel engaged with 4 HE 105 Artillery rounds, at 0155hrs at BS708427 spotted 1to 3 stationary personnel engaged with 6 HE 105mm Artillery rounds. At 0405hrs at BS819445 spotted 13 people moving southwest and engaged with 4 HE 105mm Artillery rounds and at 0430hrs at BS819355 spotted 13 stationary personnel engaged with 4 HE 105mm Artillery rounds. At 0455hrs at BS799453 spotted 3 to 5 people moving southwest and engaged with 48 HE 105mm Artillery rounds. At 2310hrs TMF String 72 C has stationary target with metal confirmed and negative clearance proximity to friendly. At 0810hrs 26 Engineers, Mine sweep started BS760435 to BS776435. At 0915hrs Brigade Area of Operation extension 1 Company 4-4 ARVN Date/Time/Grid 130600hrs to 131900hrs December 1970 Upper Left BS7037 and Lower Right BS7433, disapproved by AEP III, Neddles. At 1000hrs Primo 4 is on station for Command and Control Helicopter. At 1025hrs 26 Engineers road is open. At 1030hrs MACV Vietnamese patrol vicinity BS700593. At 1105hrs Primo 4 is breaking station. At 1120hrs S-4 Dolphin 445 is on station for resupply. At 1400hrs S-5 LZ Dragon purchased from 2 Vietnamese children for $220 Vietnamese, 3 60mm and 2 M-79 rounds. At 2252hrs Q Company reports radar-sighting vicinity BS677604, 2 personnel stationary notified MACV Team PF 144 and 166. They checked the area out with negative findings, did not fire Artillery due to the proximity of friendly hamlet. Legend: 1st Platoon 83-88, 2nd Platoon 33-38, 3rd Platoon 03-08, 4th Platoon 63-68 and CO 09.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Bravo Company
December 12, 1970
Bravo Company continued their Saturation Patrolling in their Area of Operation today. At 1330hrs Bravo Company 2nd Platoon vicinity BS738465, while on patrol found a booby trap on a trail next to a tree. It was a Chi Com grenade with a trip wire device, and it was destroyed in place. At 1905hrs Bravo Company has their Night Defense Position and two ambushes out tonight just north of LZ Liz.
Charlie Company

At 1015hrs Charlie Company 3rd Platoon vicinity BS755384, received 1 60mm found from Vietnamese children at their Patrol Base. Children were given C-rations and 100 Piasters, rounds were all destroyed in place. At 1125hrs Charlie Company 3rd Platoon located 2 dud 8" rounds lot No 6189 MN, fuse lot # LTT 227 E2A, it will be destroyed in place, spent the rest of Day buying misc. rounds which also where destroyed in place. At 1320hrs Charlie Company 3rd Platoon was led by a 8 year old Vietnamese male to a 250 pound bomb vicinity BS756379, paid him 2 cans of C-rations and requested a EOD team. At 1415hrs Charlie Company 3rd Platoon vicinity BS748383 bought 1 155 HE Artillery round for 2 meals C-rations, from 1 10-year-old boy and destroyed in place. At 1820hrs Charlie Company 2nd Platoon vicinity BS774370, bought 1 81mm Mortar round, 1 60mm Mortar round and 1 rifle grenade and 57mm recoilless round, paid 2 boxes of C rations for all this and destroyed in place. At 1900hrs Charlie Company change in ambush locations 1st Platoon BS725415, BS729414, BS725413, 3rd Platoon BS758393, BS753391 and 2nd Platoon BS775375, BS766377, BS776370, BS769374 and BS775376.
Delta Company

Delta Company will continue to patrol their Area of Operation. At 0745hrs Delta Company 1st Platoon patrol closed on BS741573, Command Post and 4th Platoon is at BS741573, 2nd Platoon BS756552 and 3rd Platoon is at BS741561. At 1005hrs Delta Company 3rd Platoon patrol is moving out for BS735565 and 2nd Platoon is moving out for BS764547. At 110hrs Delta Company 2nd Platoon patrol closed on BS756552. At 1115hrs Delta Company 3rd Platoon closed on BS741562. At 1925hrs Delta Company reports their Night locations CP-1st and 4th Platoon BS742576, 3rd platoon BS744557, and ambush BS717560, 2nd Platoon BS758550.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon will continue their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry. At 2140hrs Recon Platoon is leaving LZ Liz to BS725460.
