Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0345hrs MACV requests Nighthawk, spotted a boat at BS7958, when a light was shone on it, it went back into ocean. At 0500hrs LZ Liz Bunker Line Inspection checked Bunkers # 6, # 8, #13, #14, Bramball asleep on #13. At 0800hrs 1-20 Infantry LZ Liz Access Road is clear. At 1320hrs 1-20 Infantry Dolphin 1 AMC is on station for extraction of Recon Platoon PZ time 1330hrs and LZ time 1340hrs. At 1426hrs 1-20 Infantry Primo 5 is on station at this time. At 2042hrs 1-20 Infantry Mechanical Ambushes out: Bravo 4, Alpha 9, Charlie 3, for a total of 16 out. Legend: 1st Platoon 58, 2nd Platoon 16, 3rd Platoon 83, 4th Platoon 42, CO-07.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company used Patrol Bases and multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 0955hrs Alpha Company all elements in preplanned locations except Command Post 1st and 4th Platoon will be moving out after re supply, 2nd Platoon at 724386 and 3rd Platoon is at 749375. At 1105hrs Alpha Company 3rd Platoon bought 1 fuse bomb, 7" diameter, bell shape (#SM-1325-570-2498). Also 2 60mm rounds and paid 2 Vietnamese children 10-14 with 3 cans of C Rations. Alpha Company then blew in place the personnel who detonated Fuse bomb had after effects of tightness in chest, burning of eyes, and one man vomited. Checking with Brigade so if their have any information vicinity BS749375. At 1130hrs Alpha Company 2nd Platoon while retrieving a Mechanical Ambush found 2 sleeping positions well camouflaged in a bamboo thicket vicinity BS720385. Also had a arrow pointing toward these sleeping positions. At 1415hrs Alpha Company 3rd Platoon spotted 2 VC with packs and weapons vicinity BS762381, upon sweeping area observed 4 more VC with packs and weapons vicinity BS745372 and engaged with Artillery and sweep the area and at 1510hrs reports negative finding. At 1510hrs Alpha Company upon sweeping are of engagement with Fire Mission Artillery, had negative findings vicinity BS745372. At 1925hrs Alpha Company Command Post 1st and 4th Platoons moving toward their Night Defense Position found 1 155mm booby trap located in a hedgerow, the booby trap was a pressure release and approximately 30-40 days old and blew it in place. At 2040hrs Alpha Company all elements in their Night Defense Position Command Post, 1st and 4th Platoon at BS741388, 2nd Platoon at BS724397, 3rd Platoon at BS751371 with 3rd Platoon Ambush at BS747373 with 9 Mechanical Ambush out.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company used Patrol Bases and multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 0635hrs Bravo Company 2nd Platoon patrol is moving out to check explosion heard last night at BS663503. At 0810hrs Bravo Company while checking area of last night Mechanical Ambush detonation at BS664503, found 1 NVA male approximately 25 to 28 wearing green on green had a pack but negative weapon. In the pack was assorted clothing, 5 pounds polished rice, 2 pounds of salt and 5 pounds assorted documents, documents will be back hauled to Liz on resupply bird. At 0855hrs Bravo Company 3rd Platoon requested Urgent Dust Off for 1 US with heat stroke Crowder Danny B. Bird # 59 completed at 0940hrs. At 1525hrs Bravo Company 3rd Platoon presently at BS697506. At 2047hrs Bravo Company all elements in their Night Defense Position Command Post with 2nd and 4th Platoons at BS645513, 3rd Platoon at BS702520 and the 1st Platoon at Nui Vong.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company continued to use Patrol Bases and multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 2039hrs Charlie Company 2nd Platoon ambush at BS698458, 2nd Platoon at BS702453, Command Post and 3rd Platoon at BS717466, 3rd Platoon ambush at BS717464, 1st Platoon at BS720423 and 1st Platoon ambush at BS720427 has 3 Mechanical ambush out.
Delta Company

Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. SGT Milton H. Harden was evac to the 27th Surgical Hospital.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry. Recon Platoon is extracted PZ 1330hrs and LZ 1340hrs extraction completed to LZ Liz.
