Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 1550hrs Warlord 20 is on station for APD Box 98-15. At 1705hrs DATE/TIME/Grid 111900-120600 Nighthawk Boxes #43 BS6357 along the blue to BS9243 2000 meters south. #45 BS6859 along the blue BS6155 1000 meters each side. At 1900hrs DATE/Time/Grid the 4 ARVN Recon Area of Operation ASAP: to indefinite Upper Left BS719436 Upper Right BS777580, Lower Left BS745540 and Lower Right BS792540. At 2105hrs MACV Mo Duc requests an Urgent Dust Off vicinity BS731541 for 1 Vietnamese woman and child, burns through out the body completed at 2122hrs. At 2230hrs Sabre 40 is on station for Box 45. At 2335hrs Sabre 40 broke station after engaging vicinity BS647578, 1 well camouflaged hootch, with negative further findings. Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

At 0745hrs Alpha Company 2nd Platoon ambush closed BS696513, 1st Platoon is at BS696509 with 3rd Platoon is at BS710500. At 0910hrs Alpha Company 2nd Platoon vicinity BS690513, while en-route to retrieve a Mechanical Ambush tripped a Booby trap, which consisted of a hand grenade with trip wire in a hedgerow. Results 2 US WIA (MFW) personnel were Dusted Off by (Slow Motion 3) to Bronco, Dust Off completed at 0920hrs. At 1510hrs Alpha Company 1st and 2nd Platoon is moving out for BS702516 and the Command Post, 3rd and 4th Platoons is moving to BS704502. At 2006hrs Alpha Company Command Post, 3rd and 4th Platoon is at BS704502, 1st and 2nd Platoon BS712505, 1st Platoon ambush BS710502, 2nd Platoon BS709515, 3rd Platoon ambush at 707498. SP4 Melvin K. Hart, SP4 Daniel Ickler and SSGT Richard Blue were attached to the 91st Evac Hospital.

Charlie Company

At 0005hrs Charlie Company IOS at OP wink sighted 10 to 12 VC with packs and weapons vicinity BS704574, moving west. Sabre 44 is on station at 0030hrs, broke station at 0115hrs has fired 20 rounds HE of Artillery 105 on grid with negative results. At 0130hrs Charlie Company IOS sighted 20 to 30 personnel with packs and weapons vicinity BS702571 moving to the west. Sabre 44 is on station at 0135hrs broke station at 0205hrs with negative findings and fired 30 HE rounds of Artillery 105. At 0723hrs Charlie Company 1st Platoon ambush has closed on BS683536 and 3rd Platoon ambush has closed vicinity BS702554. At 0920hrs Charlie Company 2nd Platoon patrol has moved to BS684578. At 1140hrs Charlie Company 2nd Platoon vicinity BS678579 found 2 booby traps both within a 100 meters and looks like they were set recently. Charlie Company 2nd Platoon set up ambush in the area. Saw 1 person in a tree, engaged and knocked him out of the tree, checked the area with negative findings. At 1300hrs the 3rd Platoon vicinity BS675578 reports Vietnamese RF 425 found 81mm round booby trap and destroyed in place. At 1635hrs Charlie Company 1st Platoon bought claymore, 1 M-79, 10 M-16 rounds from Vietnamese male 10 for 1 meal of C Ration.
Delta Company

Delta Company had platoons patrolling their Area of Operation. At 0653hrs Delta Company is moving out for Patrol Base at BS718436. At 0735hrs Delta Company 2nd Platoon is in location at BS742408, 3rd Platoon is at BS715425, 1st Platoon ambush closed on BS716437 and 3rd Platoon is at BS710424 and at 0815hrs 3rd Platoon patrol is moving to BS712424. At 1035hrs Delta Company reports vicinity BS714435 with (UPDATE) on contact of 101955hrs March 1971. 1st Platoon checking area with tracker dogs from last evening contact, while checking found 1 tobacco pouch, 1 pair Ho Chi Minh sandals and 6 expended AK-47 rounds. Estimate 3 or more enemy evaded to the northwest and 1 enemy to the northeast. At 1230hrs Delta Company 1st Platoon vicinity BS724437 sighted 2 VC engaged them with small arms and M 60 at a distance of 100 meters. Personnel evaded to the east and were followed by the element. They were wearing blue with negative weapons or packs, still checking the area. At 1600hrs 1st Platoon vicinity BS718434 has pick up I detainee wearing brown shirt and blue shorts, who was hiding when element approached. He evaded but halted when warning shot was fired, and we back hauled him to LZ Bronco. At 1939hrs Delta Company Command Post 1st and 4th platoon at BS713437, 1st platoon ambush at BS719436, BS728448, 3rd Platoon BS721424, BS709422, BS716424 and 2nd platoon BS743405.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry. At 0620hrs Recon is moving out for BS760456. At 1040hrs Recon moved out for LZ Liz and closed on LZ Liz at 1100hrs. At 1130hrs Recon Report Recon and Duc Pho PRU vicinity BS760456, conducted a Search and Seal Operation and detained 9 individuals 5 males and 4 females, all were evac to MACV Duc Pho.
