Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Thunder and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 0633hrs Delta Company 19 Engineer reports at BS899268 received 15 rounds of automatic weapons fire, negative casualties and fire was not returned.
Alpha Company
July 11, 1968
At 0928hrs Alpha Company at BS784395 found a 4 ½’ high 6’ long hole following items wrapped in a parachute, Razor blade, soap, fish, clothing, hammock and 2 letters from VC 1 written 14 June to his mother and 1 written 15 June to his Uncle, will evac documents. At 1025hrs Alpha Company at BS785393 found 2 BAR magazine and Punji Stakes will destroy stakes and evac magazines to LZ Thunder. At 1054hrs Alpha Company at BS785393 found a butterfly bomb without the wing assembly. Also ammo can with 50 cal rounds will destroy. At 1202hrs Alpha Company is located at BS786394. At 1620hrs Alpha Company at BS785394 found the transmitter portion of a PRC 9, was set on channel 2 also found a small VC flag and a small bag of rice. At 1900hrs Alpha Company 10 and Command Post are in their Night Defense Position at BS785377, 20 at LZ Bronco and ambush sites at BS704374, BS789372, and BS794369.
Bravo Company
July 11, 1968
Bravo Company (-) has the Security Mission for LZ Thunder. At 0730hrs Bravo Company at BS735324 found 4 sets of military clothing, medical supplies, a pin red with star and sword on black background, the man who says his son is VC CIA. At 1445hrs Bravo Company is located at BS839318. At 1445hrs Bravo Company at BS838322 detained 1 boy 10-12 believed son of VC found in hootch in area where many VC are suppose to be located evac to IPW. At 1800hrs Bravo Company is on LZ Thunder with ambushes at BS862302, BS853293, and BS854294.
Charlie Company
July 11, 1968
At 0818hrs Charlie Company at BS846330 found a hootch with anti US Documents also 1 VC flag, and detained 2 VCS a woman and her 2 children. The Woman VCS says she has another daughter who is forced to be a VC School teacher. At 1015hrs Charlie Company at BS846313 received 1 round sniper fire from approximately 500 meters east of their location checked it out and found that round came from PF. At 1200hrs Charlie Company reports location at BS842317. At 1357hrs Charlie Company reports their location at BS860317. At 1900hrs Charlie Company is in their Night Defense Position BS895300 with ambushes at BS889300, BS900299, and BS892297.
Delta Company
July 11, 1968
Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Charlie Brown. At 1341hrs Delta Company BS929255 found a booby trap made from 2 M-79 rounds covered with a rock set to go if rock was stepped on and located by a rock wall will destroy. At 1800hrs Delta Company 10 is at LZ Charlie Brown with ambushes at BS922265 and BS932245. PFC James R. Smith was sick and evac at 1300hrs to 2nd Surgical Hospital and was attached.
Echo Company
July 11, 1968
Echo Company is located at LZ Thunder where Battalion Forward is and coordinates with the Battalion Rear Elements and Base Defense elements on LZ Thunder. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Thunder where they continue to provide direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0815hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS484464. At 1000hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS483465. At 1212hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS481464. At 1616hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS483469. At 1800hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS483473. At 1950hrs Recon Platoon re supply list, 1 bottle darvon, 4-2" ace bandages, 1 bottle ointment for rash and mosquito bite.
