At 0005hrs Q Company starlight scope at Nui Vong sighted 1 person about 30 meters from their perimeter, had a satchel bag with him. Engaged with M-60 and M-79 fire, individual evade to the northeast, checked area with negative findings. At 0555hrs Weather Variable cloudiness with isolated rain showers, temperature 68-76, humidity 65 to 95%, winds from northeast at 8 to 15 knots with outlook through Wednesday, increasing cloudiness. At 0708hrs Primo 4 is on stations, has half of tracker team with him for Recon Platoon Primo broke station at 0733hrs. At 0800hrs S-4 Dolphin 463 is on station for re supply. At 0825hrs 26 Engineers report sweep completed and Access road is open. At 0934hrs Primo 4 is on station for 1 hour as Command and Control Helicopter. At 1029hrs S-4 Re supply bird is breaking station at this time. At 1050hrs Primo 4 is breaking station with 1 hour and 15 minutes. At 1100hrs TMF activation String 310 B stationary target with metal confirmed engaged at 1102hrs with 8 VT Artillery. At 1104hrs S-5 Duc My Village, purchased from Phan Ngai, 51 years old 7 2.75 rockets (Lot # BBG 2-1303-70 ACL 1-44-2-70), 1 homemade command detonated mine, made of Petna and shrapnel in a 1 gal can. Had 1 blasting cap and electric wire, paid 2150 piasters, will destroy tomorrow. At 1420hrs S-5 Medical Platoon Med Cap is in location. At 1450hrs RF 712 made contact with a VC element vicinity 746574, unknown size. They returned fire, broke contact and are sweeping the area, swept with negative results, received 10 rounds of 60mm mortar fire, 40 rounds of M-16 fire and 10 rounds of M-79 rounds. At 2350hrs MACV Mo Duc at DATE/TIME 112230 vicinity 757510 PF/DF ambushed VC element 3 to 8 resulting in 2 PF/DF WIA and 1 VC KIA (not US confirmed). Legend: 1st Platoon 71-76, 2nd Platoon 91-96, 3rd Platoon 41-46, 4th Platoon 01-06, CO-08.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 0858hrs Alpha Company 3rd Platoon ambush is moving back to LZ Liz and closed on LZ Liz at 1002hrs. At 1540hrs Alpha Company 3rd Platoon patrol closed at BS704400, 1st Platoon Patrol has closed at BS710403, 2nd Platoon Patrol has closed at BS718420 and 1st Platoon patrol is moving out for BS722404. At 1810hrs Alpha Company 2nd Platoon patrol is moving out for BS712428 and at 1930hrs reports they are in location vicinity BS712468.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company used in some patrols and multiple Day Ambushes and Night ambushes in their Area of Operation. At 1023hrs Bravo Company 2nd Platoon patrol moved out for BS644557, 1st Platoon Day Ambush at BS634565 and 3rd Platoon Day Ambush at BS637557. At 1225hrs Bravo Company 1st Platoon patrols closed at BS634565, 2nd Platoon closed on BS645554 and 3rd Platoon at BS637557. At 2030hrs Bravo Company Command Post with 3rd and 4th Platoons is at BS699562, 1st Platoon at BS693538, BS694546, 2nd Platoon at BS673572 and BS678567.
Charlie Company

At 0730hrs Charlie Company 2nd Platoon closed on BS753568. At 0740hrs Charlie Company 3rd Platoon closed on BS699562. At 1235hrs Charlie Company at OP Pax 1st Platoon had a ten you old girl bring them a baseball grenade with no fuse, Lot #LS56-143-70 paid I can of C-Rations, and destroyed it in place. At 1330hrs OP Pax 1st Platoon had a 10 year old boy 1 C-Ration meal for 1 M-79 canister round, 1 M-79 HE. At 1510hrs Charlie Company at OP Pax 1st Platoon bought a 20mm round from a Vietnamese girl who was 10 year old. At 1645hrs Charlie Company 3rd Platoon patrol vicinity BS705558 found 1 can of Petna with smoke grenade fuse and trip wire. It was located in a break in a hedgerow and destroyed in place. At 1700hrs Charlie Company 3rd Platoon vicinity BS704558 found the top Plate of a M-14 antipersonnel mine and had a hand written medial hand book (Vietnamese), the book will be sent in to LZ Liz.
Delta Company

Delta Company changed to Conduct Recon in Force, in their Area of Operation. At 0705hrs Delta Company Command Post, 3rd Platoon and 2nd Platoon re supply at BS711478, then the Command Post and 3rd Platoon will move to Patrol Base with 2nd Platoon will remain at location. At 1650hrs 3rd Platoon patrol vicinity BS717467 found 1 dud 155 round, it was blown in place. At 1745hrs Delta Company at OP Frag, requests a Priority Dust Off 1 US with fever, Wolf completed at 1755hrs. At 1910hrs Delta Company locations 1st Platoon BS755570, Command Post and 3rd Platoon at BS717466, 1st Platoon ambush BS753568, 2nd Platoon BS713468. At 2130hrs Delta Company 1st Platoon OP Frag vicinity BS753568 took 1 incoming round believe a B-40 rocket, came from the Northwest a distance of 150 meters. Fired Illumination over suspected enemy location but had negative findings.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry. At 1025hrs Recon Platoon is closing on LZ Liz. At 1150hrs Recon vicinity BS720440, while searching last nights contact area, Recon detained 1 boy age 12 who appeared to know of the enemy activity in the area. At 1000hrs vicinity BS731435 detained 3 females (16, 23, 27 years of age) dressed in red over black, green over black and gray over black. They are questioned at this time, the Interpreter confirms 1 as VC (23 years of age) total of 5 detainees, 5th was a 21 year old male. At 1300hrs Recon Platoon reports the detainee identified as VCI (age 23) is being sent to Duc Pho MACV, the other 4 are being released. At 1815hrs Recon Platoon is moving out for BS731435.
