Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0220hrs Saber 40 is on station for Box 69 and broke station at 0220hrs. At 0607hrs Weather, Partly cloudy with minor cloudiness with from north to northeast at 8 to 15 knots, temperature 57-76 with humidity 70-90%, outlook through Saturday little change. At 1109hrs Primo 6 is breaking station. Legend: 1st Platoon 02-07, 2nd Platoon 42-47, 3rd Platoon 92-97, 4th Platoon 52-57, CO-01.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company again was using multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 0936hrs Alpha Company Command Post with 3rd and 4th Platoon is Patrol Base vicinity BS705421. At 1018hrs Alpha Company 3rd Platoon their patrol at checkpoint 2 in vicinity BS720421 and 2nd Platoon patrol at Checkpoint 2 in the vicinity BS723390. At 1655hrs Alpha Company 2nd Platoon patrol Checkpoint 2, vicinity BS730393 and 3rd Platoon patrol at Checkpoint 1 the vicinity BS690610. At 1700hrs Alpha Company found 1 dud 105 round in their Patrol Base vicinity BS705421 and blew it in place. At 1910hrs Alpha Company 1st Platoon ambush location BS675536, At 1920hrs 1st Platoon in contact artillery Ill fired at 1917hrs, 81mm fired right after time of contact and have 1 confirmed KIA, dressed in OD green, 22 years old, Ho Chi Minh sandals and carrying a rice bag, also CIA 1 .45 pistol, checked area out and had negative further finding will out area again at first light. Also captured was Map of Duc My and part of MAX, for a total of 6 maps and possible plans, ID for a woman and a picture of an ARVN. The element saw 3 people point man with a flashlight on a pole. Look as if they expected an ambush to be there. At 1925hrs Alpha Company reports their night locations 2nd Platoon BS723395 and BS732398, with 3rd Platoon at BS712418. At 2055hrs 1st Platoon ambush closed on OP Pax 693538.

Charlie Company

At 0123hrs Charlie Company on OP Wink vicinity BS699579 had IOS sighting of 8 VC with weapons moving to the southwest at a distance of 1500 meters engaged with 81mm mortars, will check the area tomorrow. At 0817hrs Charlie Company 1st Platoon closed on BS695538 after checking area of Mechanical Ambush detonation with negative finding. At 0845hrs Charlie Company vicinity BS693538, requests a routine Dust Off for 1 US personnel with frag wounds to right ear Henry Ramirez 1st Platoon wounds received from secondary explosion Dust Off completed at 1048hrs. At 1625hrs Charlie Company 3rd Platoon vicinity BS698568 while on patrol found 1 booby trap at BS698568. It was a can of Petna with trip wire device, destroyed it in place location on a slight by used trail. At 1927hrs Charlie Company vicinity BS675536 reports Alpha Company 1st Platoon in contact Artillery Ill fired at 1927hrs 81mm fired right after contact 1 KIA, dressed in OD green, 22 years old, Ho Chi Minh sandals and carrying a rice bag with 145cal pistol CIA. Checked the area out and had negative further findings, will check out area again at first light. Also captured 2 Chi Com and documents on the KIA along with Map of Duc My and part of MAX. For a Total of 6 maps possible plans, ID for a woman and picture of an ARVN. The element saw 3 people, 1 point man with a flashlight on a pole, looked as they expected an ambush to be there. At 1925hrs Charlie Company 2nd Platoon ambush is in location vicinity BS679560. At 0917hrs Charlie Company 2nd Platoon ambush closed on BS673573.

At 0741hrs Delta Company 3rd Platoon ambush closed BS695600 moving to Patrol base at BS688603 At 1400hrs Delta Company 3rd Platoon is at Checkpoint 2 and closing on BS683609. At 1550hrs Delta Company 3rd Patrol in vicinity BS67065 and at 1945hrs 2nd ambush vicinity BS679560. At 1945hrs Delta Company 2nd Platoon ambush in location BS693606.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry.
