Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0400hrs 1-20 Infantry Radar at 1950hrs sighted 4 to 6 stationary personnel at grid BS722428 with negative clearance, at 2200hrs 5 to 7 personnel were spotted moving northwest at grid BS743485 and were engaged with 8 HE of Artillery 105mm. At 2310hrs 4 to 7 personnel were spotted moving northeast at grid BS711426 and were engaged with 8 HE of Artillery 105mm. At 0005hrs Radar10 to 12 stationary personnel were spotted at grid BS718422 and were engaged with 27 HE of Artillery 105mm. At 0750hrs Recon Platoon reports all elements have reviewed and reemphasized the Rules of Engagement. At 1005hrs 26th Engineers the access road is closed until further notification. We found a fresh VC/NVA track along the road and suspect there might be a mine planted on the road, we request all vehicles going down the road to have sandbags in the vehicles and steel pots on as well as flak jackets (proper uniform). At 1007hrs Brigade Shark was on its way to a Combat Assault and spotted 1 VC/NVA with weapon run into a hedgerow in the vicinity of BS804417. At 1010hrs Helix 33 we are putting in an Air Strike into grids BS842412 and BS845405, with a Bomb Damage Assessment of 3 fighting positions destroyed. At 1440hrs 1-20 Infantry Commanding Officer, has left LZ Liz for the rear and returned at 1630hrs. At 1455hrs The Brigade Commanding Officer has arrived at LZ Liz, was briefed and left at 1515hrs.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company
February 11, 1970
At 0850hrs plans for today Alpha Company ambushes along fine from BS724244 to BS719430, BS724208, BS738400, BS742398 and BS748398. Charlie Company ambushes along a line BS732395 and south by southwest and southeast and east along the Area of Operation to BS778372. At 1710hrs Alpha Company reports their Night Defense Position at BS736418 and by 1945hrs all snakes are in location. Alpha Company reports snake location 04 at BS714428, 05 at BS721436, 06 at BS718421, 14 at BS729414, the 15 at BS722415, 16 to BS728407, 44 at BS735399, 45 at BS746393 and the 49 snake at BS738405.
Bravo Company
February 11, 1970
At 0020hrs Bravo Company we received a few rounds of small arms fire and 2 M 79 rounds south of the Command Post at BS783433, we are calling in at this time 81mm Mortars. At 0601hrs Bravo Company the 07 element has closed on BS783433. At 0650hrs Bravo Company the 19 element closed on BS783433, the 46 element has closed on BS783433, the 17 and the Ranger have closed on BS783433. The 48 element at 0835hrs has closed on BS794380. At 1027hrs Bravo Company requested an urgent Dust Off for 1 PF with gun shot wound and a VC woman with a frag wound grid BS808408. The Dust Off request by Bravo 44 completed at 1035hrs. At 1045hrs Bravo Company the 44 element at grid BS808408 has four female and one male detainees, along with one pistol belt, one M26 grenade, one M-16 (sn #860191). The 44 element was sweeping the area and was fired on and they returned the fire, 2 Females, 16 and 20 years old, dressed in black bottoms and one with a yellow top and the other with a blue top and they were detained. The male detainee later became a KIA and one other male KIA was recorded. One male successfully evaded with a M-16 and some kind of pack across the midsection also the VC was dressed in blue. At 1049hrs Bravo Company we also requested an Urgent Dust Off for 1 Vietnamese female VC who was hit by a US truck BS771461 and completed at 1100hrs. At 1415hrs Bravo Company the 45 element has closed on BS787424. At 1455hrs 11 Brigade a UDT tem will be working in the vicinity of Tripoli on 13 and 14 February 1970. We will be required to provide security while they search for underwater tunnels, Bravo Company will be given the Security Mission. At 1630hrs Bravo Company we request an ambulance for extraction of 1 female Vietnamese with slight gunshot wound in the arm. The victim received the injury by the 185 PF on a patrol with the 09 element as a result of friendly fire, grid BS790446. At 1720hrs Bravo Company Reference to the 2 KIA that the 44 element got at 1045hrs. One was the Village Security Chief and the other was the Hamlet Chief, when the 44 element returned they detained 2 female who the PF said where VC. They had no ID’s ages 20 and 27 wearing black bottoms and white tops, grid BS808408. At 1825hrs the addition operation is the 05 clearing patrol to BS780430 for Bravo Company. At 1831hrs Bravo Company we request an Urgent Dust Off for 1 Vietnamese child who has an extremely high temperature (possibly Malaria), competed at 1845hrs, at grid BS783433. At 0905hrs Bravo Company (Late Report) the 44 elements RF and RF ran a patrol at 1630hrs in the area south of the Southern Bridge. They apprehended 2 VC, 1 male age 53 and 1 female age 51 that was spotted at the refugee camp north of Duc Pho. Intelligence reveals that the male VC overheard plans of the 44 elements and he then proceed to Duc Pho to inform VC woman, of the intelligence gained. At 2000hrs Bravo Company the 44 element is moving to BS792442 and the 08 element is at BS788438. Bravo the 18 snake is at BS766453, the 16 snake at BS779453 and the 46 snake at grid BS792442.
Charlie Company

At 0820hrs Charlie Company all elements have closed on BS761379. At 0850hrs 1-20 Infantry Charlie Company all snakes are in location along a line from BS722422 and southeast along the Battalion Area of Operation line to BS743375 (200 meters inside). Tomorrow Charlie Company is to pull out the entire unit into a Day Logger for a hot breakfast, report today’s PZ ASAP. At 0901hrs Charlie Company our PZ for the 04 and 58 elements is at BS766373 and at 0915hrs Charlie Company our present PZ are the 14 at BS795415, 44 at BS788387, 04 at BS765378, the 08 element at BS771373 and the 07 element is at BS762383. At 1209hrs Charlie Company the 44 element has closed on BS776373 and the 14 element has closed at grid BS750390. At 1420hrs Charlie Company the 07 and 08 elements have closed on the 04 location. All elements are in location to accept re supply the 04 is at BS765378, the 14 element is at BS750390 and the Command Post and 58 at BS776373. At 1755hrs Charlie Company we are moving to our Night Defense Position at BS761376 and closed at 1925hrs. At 2000hrs Charlie Company reports their multiple snakes have all closed on their locations. At 2040hrs Charlie Company was notified that breakfast will be served at 0730hrs tomorrow.
Delta Company

Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 0830hrs all elements have closed on LZ Liz and Security on the road is out. At 0900hrs Alpha Company reports all element have closed on BS740418. At 1932hrs Delta Company reports their SRRP is now in location at BS745425.
Echo Company
February 11, 1970
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0620hrs 4.2 Platoon reports Supporting Mission 14, Observed Mission 4 and Defense Targets 2 for a total of 20 HE and 4 WP round. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. At 1825hrs Recon in our Combat Assault we need one lift with 4 ships with a 1st PZ 1825hrs to 1st LZ at BS755450 and at 1830. At 1940hrs Recon Platoon at grid BS752451 we apprehended 1 VC detainee wearing purple pants and purple shirt. He was 39 years of age and appears to be in top physical condition. A Kit Carson Scout provided the Intelligence. At 2112hrs Recon Platoon our Night Defense Position is at BS745451. At 2212hrs Recon Platoon reports Robin Hood element is at BS746450, the Little Al element is at BS755457 and Little John is at BS736448.
