Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Custer and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0720hrs S-4 Resupply Bird is on station Minuteman 12 while test firing a M-60 and a M201 hit a secondary explosion causing two individuals to get minor frag wounds. The Chief Tech for M203 the left leg and 1st SGT Moore of Alpha Company 1-20 Infantry got a piece of frag in the right arm taken to 91 Evac at this time. At 1745hrs Bravo Company at Special Forces Camp Minh Long requests a Priority for Dust Off for 1 individual with possible broken ankle. Legend: 1st Platoon 59, 2nd Platoon 56, 3rd Platoon 89, 4th Platoon 97, CO-29.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for Chu Lai.
Alpha Company
September 10, 1971
Alpha Company continued with their Security Mission for LZ Custer. At 0915hrs Alpha Company 2nd Platoon moving out to BS518569 and closed on location at 0930hrs. At 1010hrs Alpha Company 2nd Platoon at BS514568 and then closed on LZ Custer. At 1200hrs while test firing a M-60 and M 203 hit a secondary explosion causing two individuals to get minor frag wounds to the Crew Chief Tech, frag in left leg and 1st Sgt. Moore of Alpha Company got a frag in right arm taken to 91st Evac.
Bravo Company

At 1745hrs Bravo Company at Minh Long requested a priority Dust Off for 1 individual with possible broken ankle. Bravo Company continued to work with Security Mission for Minh Long.
Charlie Company
September 10, 1971
Charlie Company (part of company will continue Security Mission for LZ Liz. Part of Charlie Company and Recon Platoon is on their Stand Down at Chu Lai.
Delta Company
September 10, 1971
Delta Company will continue their Security Mission for LZ Custer. At 0915hrs Delta Company 2nd Platoon moving out to BS513519 on a security patrol and then at 0935hrs to BS513569. At 1040hrs Delta Company 2nd Platoon closed back on LZ Custer.
Echo Company
September 10, 1971
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Custer and where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon with part of Charlie Company is on Stand Down in Chu Lai.
