Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and continued their working with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 2400hrs Cease fire ends at 2400hrs 10 September 1969. At 0553hrs 1-20 Infantry the Command Message, given to the Companies and Rear, (Identify your target as enemy before you fire). At 0915hrs Warlord Lead will be pulling a Visual Recon around the 515 Valley, will be in Area of Operation for about 1 hour and 15 minutes. At 1915hrs Warlord we checked of the dummy mortar tubes and they are at BS712428. They may have been moved slightly. The Skeeter took 1 round of ground fire from this area, and the area is now being checked out. Loch 170 with clutter 2 is in the area working with US at this time. At 1000hrs Warlord Lead, results of Visual Recon BS760365 very recent campfires and a shovel at BS756367 along with 3 automatic weapons position and trench line. At BS757376, there are 3 automatic weapons positions and trench lines. At BS712428, recent trenches and fighting positions and very heavy movement indicated to the east, south and southeast, also one shot Charlie. At BS7166455 was 1 long brown tube 4’ long and 4" in diameter. At BS722421 spotted 1 VC evading, very recent trench lines. At BS700416 a rock shelter with several packs and other unidentifiable equipment underneath. At BS700432 found fresh trail recently used, movement indicated to the southeast and at BS718413 2 automatic weapons positions, tunnels and bunkers. At BS742378 7 new trenches and several tunnels, recently constructed fighting positions. We are back at Duc Pho at this time. At 1720hrs Brigade the 39th Engineer will have 8 bridge trucks hauling bridges from Lowboy to Max during next 2 to 4 days. One convoy will be controlled by Nighle Atlas 23 and the other by Nighle Atlas 10 each convoy will contain 4 trucks. At 1747hrs Warlord Lead reports 13 at gird BS752378 new tunnel entrances, also 14 at grid BS740372, tunnel complex with air vents, 15 grid BS750360, bunkers, tunnels, fighting positions, 16 entire Gaza Strip, green uniforms being dried out, numerous military age males, 17 grid BS822445, parts form air force bombs. At 1800hrs Brigade Fall rice harvest is approaching, US should be prepared to provide security for the civilians, against the enemy VC/NVA.
Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion. At 0125hrs LZ Bronco PP/SI-5 at BS842399 picked up 5 persons with negative fire.
Alpha Company
September 10, 1969
Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz and Access Road. At 0604hrs Alpha Company their snake has returned to LZ Liz.
Bravo Company
September 10, 1969
At 0330hrs Bravo Company the 44 element is heading back to the North Bridge Site. At 0559hrs Bravo 47 is now on the South Bridge. At 0633hrs Bravo Company 44 is on the North Bridge, the 45, 43 elements are on the South Bridge. At 0735hrs 3rd Platoon Bravo Company checked out area of contact and policed up 1 VCS (male, 37 years old, has ID). Also found many footprints leading southwest toward the small Ville south of the South OP. There is a hedgerow at the edge of the Ville, which may have been a hiding place, but the area was too wet to leave footprints. At 0810hrs Bravo Company reports their have reviewed rules of engagement with all their elements. At 0835hrs Bravo Company is located at Day Logger BS778451 with 44 element and 43 element leader on the southern Bridge site and the 45 at the northern Bridge site with 47 element ranger team. At 1806hrs Bravo Company is moving out of Day Logger for Night Defense Position and will stop a short distance from and wait until dark and at 1828hrs Bravo Company present location grid BS777444 will move after dark. At 1950hrs Bravo Company is moving into their Night Defense Position at BS777439, 45 at BS775455, 24 BS777445, 44 BS783433, and 43 at BS795405.
Charlie Company

At 0627hrs Charlie Company reports both snakes has closed on the Night Defense Position. At 1045hrs Charlie Company reports location for 23 at BS728447 and at 1255hrs Charlie Company is moving to Day Logger Position. At 1300hrs Charlie Company is at BS726439 and requested a Dust Off for Vietnamese with foreign object imbedded in the throat. The baby I having much trouble breathing and all attempts to dislodge object have failed so far Duct Off Completed at 1520hrs and at 1430hrs 43 has closed on Day logger with 23 close behind. At 1950hrs Charlie Company is moving into their Night Defense Position at BS733445, with 25 at BS735450 and 45 at BS729449.
Delta Company

At 0555hrs Delta Companies all snakes have closed on Delta Company and at 0755hrs Delta Company at BS743543. At 1800hrs Delta Company moved into their Night Defense Position at BS737529.
Echo Company
September 10, 1969
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0620hrs 4.2 Platoon reports Defense Targets 3 with total expended 4 HE Rounds. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Action in the Area of Operation is light due to the weather as Recon Platoon will continue their Security Mission for LZ Liz and the 1-20 Infantry.
