Headquarters and Headquarter Company
November 10, 1969

Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and continued their working with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 1000hrs 1-20 Infantry requested one set of scout dogs at Bud Pad at 1400hrs. At 1810hrs PZ for Recon 1-20 Infantry at 0700hrs and PZ for Delta Company at 0715hrs. At 2220hrs LZ Liz Charlie Company Bunker Line #20 received 1 round incoming small arms fire, sniper fire the round cam through the aperture, negative casualties. Artillery bunker Line confirmed mussel flash one weapon. Artillery is adjusting 81mm to BS758428.

Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion.

 

Alpha Company
November 10, 1969

Alpha Company will continue their Security Mission for Land Clearing Operation. At 0750hrs Alpha Company is located at BS825455 and at 1531hrs Alpha Company at BS829413 and will act as a Security Force for the PRU when the Chieu Hoi led them to a tunnel. They blew the tunnel results one VC KIA found some documents and evac the Chieu Hoi to MACV. At 1606hrs Alpha Company at BS825455 detained 2 females VCS, negative ID and National Police say she is VC. She also had 4,300 piastres on her evac to (1-20 Infantry) TOC. At 1810hrs Alpha Company PRU requests Urgent Dust Off and complete at 1730hrs for 2 VCS (1 male 30-35 and 1 female 20-25), they were in one of five bunkers in the area. The PRU threw frag in one bunker and also 4 male VCS and 1 other VCS came out of the bunkers. Also at 2915hrs 1 SKS was captured and 1 US M1 rifle 598645 CIA, all 5 VCS and weapons will be at MACV. Alpha Company moved into their Night Defense Position at BS825455.

 

Bravo Company
November 10, 1969

Bravo Company reports their location at BS783433. At 0950hrs Bravo Company at BS789417 Dust Off for one Vietnamese female with gunshot wound in buttocks Dust Off completed at 1008hrs. At 1315hrs Bravo Company at BS787424 Dust Off requested for 1 Vietnamese female frag wounds in legs and arms Dust Off completed at 1529hrs. At 2034hrs Bravo Company at BS787424 Bravo 32 element OP spotted movement 4 to 5 VC/NVA traveling east to west 400 meters to 500 meters in front of perimeter engaged them with small arms fire and will check out area tomorrow at first light.

 

Charlie Company
November 10, 1969

Charlie Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 2220hrs Charlie Company on LZ Liz bunker line # 20 received 1 incoming small arms fire. The round came through the appetite negative casualties and Artillery bunker line confirmed mussel flash of a weapon. Artillery adjusting 81mm to BS758428, results is unknown. Charlie Company the little people have left on their mission to BS745468 (45P ARVN). At 0741hrs the ARVN have returned to grid BS755458. At 0816hrs Charlie Company my Command Post and 32 elements will move out and the 72 element will stay behind to clean up the Night Defense Position site at grid BS741439. At 1742hrs Charlie Company we are moving into our Night Defense Position at BS796477.

 

Delta Company
November 10, 1969

At 1630hrs Delta Company is at BS701453 and requests a Routine Dust Off for 1 US with possible malaria, Dust Off complete at 1725hrs. At 1810hrs Delta Company at BS778453 at Night Defense Position and at 2034hrs at BS787424 Bravo 32 OP spotted movement 4 to 5 VC/NVA traveling east to west 400 meters in front of perimeter. Echo Company
November 10, 1969

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. At 0750hrs Recon Platoon is located at BS778427 their day logger. At 1330hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS773416 and at 1810hrs Recon Platoon still working out of location at 1815hrs. At 1950hrs Recon reports their Night Defense Position at BS773415.
