Headquarters and Headquarter Company
November 10, 1968

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Cork and will continued to work with ARVN units their Area of Operations in OPERATION VERNON LAKE II. At 1740hrs Late Entry 174 Aviation Shark reports at 1640hrs at BS456722 received (50 caliber) fire from 2 positions, also many small automatic weapons position, Gun Ship expended ammo with negative assessment. The 173 Airborne request to Nigh Logger at BS935430 will move by boat on 11 November direct coordination will be made between the 173 Airborne unit and 11 Brigade pass to 11 Brigade Sgt Keele at 1740hrs. The 4-21 Infantry from LZ Baldy replaces 1-46 Infantry as they return to LZ Baldy.

Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 1015hrs 19 Engineer reports at BS753499 Vietnamese Lambretta hit a mine and evac 6 wound Vietnamese, mine was pressure type estimated 30 pounds. At 2120hrs 11 Infantry Brigade went off yellow alert, reason 2 individuals were observed on the runway inside the perimeter and believed to be Vietnamese scrabbled flare ship, results 2 US personnel were found and believed to be stealing plywood, return to green alert at 2145hrs.

 

Alpha Company
November 10, 1968

Alpha Company conducted Combat Sweeps in their Area of Operation and at 1010hrs Alpha Company is located at BS463561. At 1840hrs Alpha Company is located at BS469557.

 

Bravo Company
November 10, 1968

Bravo Company continued to use Combat Sweeps in their Area of Operation and by 1010hrs Bravo Company is located at BS469563. At 1751hrs Bravo Company is at BS469562 found a set of footprints that had been following for about 200 meters and lost them. At 1840hrs Bravo Company has moved into their Night Defense Position at BS473557. PFC Frank M. Dicrescio was injured with sprained back and evac to the 312th Evac Hospital at 1635hrs.

 

Charlie Company
November 10, 1968

Charlie Company continued to conduct Combat Sweeps operations in their Area of Operation today with negative finding. At 1010hrs Charlie Company reports their location at BS459567. At 1840hrs Charlie Company reports their location at BS468564 which will be their Night Defense Position.

 

Delta Company
November 10, 1968

Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Cork. At 0711hrs LZ Cork Bunker caved in one man injured, broken left leg and injured back, Dust Off completed at 0806hrs. SP4 James R. Smith was evac to 312th Evac Hospital.

 

Echo Company
November 10, 1968

Echo Company is located at LZ Cork where Battalion Forward is and coordinates with the Battalion Rear Elements and Base Defense elements on LZ Cork. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Cork where they continue to provide direct fire support for the (1-20 Infantry Battalion). At 1010hrs Recon Platoon continued to man their OP at BS444624. At 1840hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS444623.
