Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0010hrs Alpha Company LZ Liz, LT Sprayberry checked bunkers 15, 16, 17, 1, 2 and 3 and all satisfactory. At 0809hrs LZ Liz Access Road has mine swept. At 0900hrs 1-20 Infantry Primo 6 is on station at this time and breaks station at 1000hrs. At 1030hrs 1-20 Infantry Box car 21 is on station at this time. At 1425hrs MACV Mo Duc requested a priority Dust Off for 2 PF, 1 with a broken leg, 1 with multiple frag wounds at BS699563 due to booby trap. Dust Off 59 completed at 1504hrs PF 165 was element. At 1525hrs Warlord 39 is on station for Box 62 Americal Rules of engagement, fire for fire, packs and weapons and evading. At 1550hrs MACV Mo Duc PF 164 requested a priority Dust Off for 3 PF with multiple frag wounds received from booby trap vicinity BS699563, Dust Off 59 completed at 1616hrs. At 1827hrs Charlie Company LZ Liz requested 1 routine Dust Off for 1 US with suspected pneumonia, vicinity of pick up LZ Liz, patient taken to Chu Lai, Dust Off # 59 completed at 1915hrs. At 2021hrs Charlie Company LZ Liz went at 100% alert, after bunker 14 popped a red star cluster by mistake. Charlie Company achieved 100% at 2025hrs and alert end at 2044hrs all satisfactory. At 2118hrs Warlord Blue into Nighthawk 68, at BS771374 engaged 1 camouflaged lean to, at 2210hrs breaking station with negative further findings, going to Chu Lai for POL and armament. At 2245hrs MACV Duc Pho RF 147 at 2200hrs vicinity BS843313 while in ambush location made contact with unknown size enemy element of VC guerrillas resulting in 5 VC KIA and CIA 2 M-16 rifles not US confirmed. At 2300hrs TO Brigade S-3 FROM Battalion Commander, General Gorowitz visited Fire Support Base Liz 1615hrs to 1630hrs 10 July to Discussed deficiencies on 24th Corps Command Evaluation Inspection. General will aid in securing courtesy CMMI team to visit 1-20 Infantry on 12 July 1971, General stated he will get engineer assistance on replacement of tactical wire. Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for Chu Lai. At 2255hrs to 1-20 Infantry Rear FROM Major Edwards, have Charlie Company XO come to LZ Liz tomorrow to be acting Commander of Charlie Company.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 0552hrs 2nd Platoon staring to swept grid BS764430 to check out moving lights that were engaged last night. At 0630hrs negative finding returned to LZ Liz. At 1120hrs Alpha Company started moving off LZ Liz to set up Patrol Bases and multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 2017hrs Alpha Company Night Defense Position 1st Platoon at BS737460, 1st Platoon ambush at BS728460, 2nd Platoon and Command Post at BS724446.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company continued will continue to use Patrol bases and multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 0640hrs Bravo Company Command Post while sweeping area of last night Mechanical Ambush found 1 VC KIA, wearing Khaki clothes, 25. At 2015hrs Bravo Company reports all elements in their Night Defense Position Command Post with 2nd Platoon vicinity BS663517 and 1st Platoon at BS677514.
Charlie Company

At 0630hrs Delta Company all elements moving to LZ Liz and closed at 0808hrs. Delta Company is moving to Chu Lai to prepare for their Stand Down.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry. At 0716hrs Recon is in their Patrol Base at BS685519.At 1957hrs Recon is moving to their Night Defense Position vicinity BS679524 and closed on position at 2005hrs.
