Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0018hrs Saber 44 is breaking station with negative findings in Nighthawk Box #60. At 0113hrs Saber 44 is on station for Box 69 and at 0125hrs Saber 44 vicinity BS670545 checked out the area of Charlie Company earlier contact and POW with negative results. He followed up the TOT by about 15 minutes. He continued to work Box 69 with negative results and broke station at 0154hrs. At 0845hrs 26 Engineer vicinity BS764435 on LZ Liz Access Road, had 1 2 ½ ton truck leave south side of the road pinning and crushing to death their Vietnamese Interpreter, Driver was unhurt, tow truck closing on the area. At 1530hrs Helix 37 is on station. At 1535hrs S-5 vicinity BS783433, Med Cap completed at 1515hrs treated 189 Vietnamese, two Vietnamese female nurses assisted (Duc Pho District Medics). Ground contact, broadcast team was at the scene. At 1545hrs Helix 37 reports at BS627506, area of cultivation, breaking station at this time. At 2231hrs Bravo Company LZ Liz and permanent party are put on 100% practice alert at the above time, there were negative casualties, friendly or enemy and alert ended at 2245hrs. Legend: 1st Platoon 54-59, 2nd Platoon 64-99, 3rd Platoon 04-09, 4th Platoon 34-39, CO-21.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued using multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 0930hrs Alpha Company 2nd Platoon patrol is moving to BS708440. At 1144hrs Alpha Company 2nd Platoon patrol closed on BS722404. At 1225hrs 3rd Platoon patrol closed on BS711434. At 1525hrs Alpha Company 2nd Platoon patrol is moving out for BS708440. At 1855hrs Alpha Company 1st Platoon vicinity BS670548, in response to intelligence received from NVA CIA/WIA last night, elements of 1st Platoon ambushed 3 NVA at a distance of 100 meters, NVA were moving from West to East. Artillery fired in support, results 3 NVA KIA, 2 AK-47 small amount of documents CIA, 1 US WIA Priority Dust Off and documents will be back hauled to Military Intelligence at Bronco. Enemy evaded to the north. At 1950hrs Alpha Company 3rd Platoon at BS712423, 2nd Platoon BS723398, BS728394, 3rd and 4th Platoon at BS706423. At 2005hrs Alpha Company 3rd Platoon vicinity grid BS723400 had a mechanical Ambush detonate, Artillery Illumination was fired element checking out area now, found small animal after checking the area out.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 2231hrs Bravo Company at LZ Liz and permanent party are put on 100% practice Alert at the above time. There were negative casualties, friendly or enemy Alert ended at 2245hrs.
Charlie Company
February 10, 1971
Charlie Company continued to conduct multiple patrols and Day ambushes in their Area of Operation. At 1930hrs Charlie Company vicinity BS693538 6 personnel (unknown whether they had packs or weapons). Artillery was fired at target, enemy evade north and northeast with unknown results. At 0930hrs Charlie Company at BS693538 requested Priority Dust Off for 1 US from Alpha Company 1 US WIA requested priority Dust Off for 1 US from Alpha Company 1st Platoon received wounds during contact to legs and arms James Rickle completed at 2020hrs. At 1945hrs Charlie Company 1st Platoon ambush in location BS678563, 2nd Platoon ambush in location BS692528. At 2150hrs Charlie Company 1st Platoon vicinity BS692528 had a Mechanical Ambush detonate fired Artillery Illumination, swept the area with negative findings, will check but the area again at first light.
Delta Company

Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz and Road Security. At 1940hrs Delta Company, 3rd Platoon ambushes location BS692603. PFC William C. Wellday was attached to 91st Evac Hospital.
Echo Company
February 10, 1971
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry.
