Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continue their working with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0800hrs Brigade we requests clearance for Air Strike at BS684437, 1-20 Infantry no elements are near the Air Strike area. At 0835hrs 1-20th Infantry Change in Command Message for 10 December and the new message is as follows ask your Artillery FO about the Saint Barbara’s Day. At 0840hrs The 26th Engineer Priority Dust Off request 2 females with frag wounds to the head, they received these wounds from friendly fire. Dust Off completed at 0848hrs. At 1345hrs 1-20 Infantry request set of Scout Dogs for Alpha Company will pick up at 1300hrs Bud Pad. At 1600hrs 1-20 Infantry There was no news about the M Boat aground. At 1935hrs Radar picked up 15-20 personnel in 2 vehicles. Charlie Company picked up 17 detainees at same location today they are moving toward location. Now Gun Ships and Flare Ships are moving to assist. At Sharks Gun Ships are on station for radar target on grid BS787464. It is either a motorized Sampan or a vehicle. At 2015hrs the sharks had tracers fired on them. At 2136hrs Gun ships we fired on a bridge at BS787473 we believe the enemy was clinging to the pillars. Negative results and we are now breaking station.
Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion. At 1445hrs Brigade TOC The alternate and challenge password should be used today for a 24 hour period.
Alpha Company
December 10, 1969
Alpha Company will continue their Security Mission for LZ Liz will some Security Patrols around the LZ. At 0040hrs Alpha Company we spotted movement to the front of Bunker 18 we fired illumination and checked out the area with negative results. At 0540hrs Alpha Company the 35 snake is moving to checkpoint BS763423. At 0605hrs the 35 patrol has closed on LZ Liz. At 0830hrs the 74, 14, and 15 snakes have closed on LZ Liz. At 1530hrs Alpha Company at BS778445 requested Dust Off for one male Vietnamese with frag wounds in the arm, leg and stomach, believed to be hit by Friendly artillery from last night. Dust Off completed at 1540hrs. At 1840hrs Alpha Company the 75 and 24 elements are at BS777441 and BS768439 respectively.
Bravo Company
December 10, 1969
At 0510hrs Bravo Company the 34 element is moving out at BS771461 to its blocking force at BS787460. At 0613hrs Bravo Company the rangers are moving out to grid BS787460 and at 0605hrs the 34 element is in their position at BS787460. At 0645hrs Bravo Company the 34 element said that the ARVN spotted 1 VC/NVA with a weapon at grid BS778465. We fired on suspect with negative results. At 0658hr Bravo Company at BS789454 spotted 20-30 personnel, are now checking out the area at this time, with negative results. At 0725hrs Bravo Company at BS787452 pickup 1 civilian detainee approximately 27, no ID or weapon, the PF say they claim him. At 1035hrs Bravo Company the Rangers at grid BS776465 at grid BS776465 spotted 1 VC with a weapon. We fired on him and received a few rounds back we are chasing the VC at this time. At 1416hrs Bravo Company the 15 element and Gorilla element are moving out to BS783449 and closed on checkpoint 1 (BS783449) at 1535hrs. At 1705hrs Bravo Company closed on BS783433 and at 1716hrs Bravo Gorilla element is at checkpoint 4 at grid BS793432. At 1920hrs Bravo Company 76 is located at BS794406, 75 at BS790423, 74 at BS723447 and 33 at BS782462 with Gorilla at BS789439.
Charlie Company
December 10, 1969
At 0656hrs Charlie Company the 32 element is taking incoming friendly fire from one of Bravo Company elements. One US was hit in the left shoulder by M-16 fire. It is not serious enough to require Dust Off at grid BS794476. At 0815hrs Charlie Company at BS746474 pick up 3 civilian detainees swimming in the river ages 18-26, no ID. One was carrying a green uniform and the Kit Carson Scout says he is VC. He will be evac to LZ Bronco. At 1010hrs Charlie Company element working with APC are moving to BS833437 then to BS826424 and then to BS836410 and back to LZ Bronco. At 1125hrs Charlie Company reports the Tracks are at LZ Bronco at this time. At 2050hrs Charlie Company at BS784484 and 72 spotted some movement at about 200 meters to the front, personnel are along river moving north and Charlie Company engaged with small arms fire, Gun Ships on station with unknown results at this time. At 2250hrs Charlie Company the 34 element spotted a boat in the water and opened fire with small arms and (M79). We received no return fire; we are firing 81mm mortar and still engaging with small arms fire boat is at grid BS787468.
Delta Company

At 0745hrs Delta Company, found one bear trap will send trap in. Delta Company at 0915hrs reported that they have closed on BS736447. At 0704hrs 1-20 Infantry to Recon and Delta Company at 0930hrs put your radio on A/G frequency. At 0915hrs Delta Company we have closed on BS736447. At 1900hrs Delta Company our 14 element is now in location at BS745443 and Delta Company 14 element is located at BS790423 and will continued to work their Area of Operations.
Echo Company
December 10, 1969
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0545hrs 4.2 Platoon reports total expended 32 HE, 2 WP, and 2 Illumination rounds. Echo Company Headquarters has the Command Responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon will continue their Security Mission of LZ Liz. At 0704hrs put your radio on A/G frequency at 0930hrs and Delta Company will do the same.
