Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Thunder and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0800hrs 1-20 Infantry TOC reports RF Company at BS771363. At 0815hrs Bravo Company 19th Engineers at BS753499 mine sweep team moving north found a pressure type mine. It had a bamboo-firing device with three commercial type flashlight batteries. Estimate charge was from 20-30 pounds. Removed the mine and blew in rice paddy on side of road. At 0700hrs Bravo Company 19th Engineer at BS771461, a mine was command detonated in by pass as mine sweep team was passing over culvert. The NCO of sweep team spotted wire and gave warning and team scattered as mine blew, estimated 20-30 pound charge, left a hole, 4’ deep and 10’ in diameter. Had 2 US WHA, not serious but both evac, 8 VCS in area were detained and sent to LZ Bronco also 1 VCS was evac from frag of mine, crater in road was filled and mine sweep continued. At 1000hrs RF Company reports their location BS784354. At 1035hrs Charlie Company 19th Engineers, LZ Lowboy Vietnamese civilians brought in a Vietnamese child who had been killed by frag wounds and request Military Police to come to LZ Lowboy to investigate. At 0840hrs Late Entry to CPT Heyman from 1-20 Infantry TOC S-3 request 4-5 tracks for us on bridge 107 & 108 during night of 10 August will also use tracks following day to establish blocking position with Alpha Company during conduct of day sweep with RF elements.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 0915hrs 1-20 Infantry TOC reports RF Company at BS784354 observed 3 VCS evading detained 2 VCS.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Thunder.
Bravo Company
August 10, 1968
Bravo Company at 0800hrs is located at BS809299 and Bravo Company conducts a Search and Destroy operation by 1000hrs at BS819284 and by 1205hrs are at BS821262. At 1837hrs Bravo Company moved into their Night Defense Position is at BS821262 with ambushes at BS829268. BS833262, BS839269, and 30 is located at BS822287. At 1958hrs Bravo Company at BS892269 moving to ambush site, heard voices to their front and set up a ambush, engaged 3 VC results is 1 VC KIA dressed in black approximately 20, no ID. He had a hammock, pistol belt, canteen, which was destroyed.
Charlie Company

At 1000hrs Charlie Company at BS793624 and moving on a Search and Clear operation in their Area of Operation. At 1837hrs Charlie Company is at their Night Defense Position at BS797313 with ambushes at BS798321, BS783305, and BS767355.
Delta Company
August 10, 1968
Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Charlie Brown. At 1540hrs at BS931129 while moving into a village, observed a man in hooch changing from a green uniform with results of 1 VCS evac to LZ Bronco. At 1837hrs Delta Company will establish ambushes at BS930129, BS903260 and BS924142, the 10 element Night Defense Position at BS917205 along with the 31 element LP is at BS932221. At 2020hrs Delta Company at BS913257 and radar picked up 2 individuals moving north east, no friendly units to close to location to engage.
Echo Company
August 10, 1968
Echo Company is located at LZ Thunder where Battalion Forward is and coordinates with the Battalion Rear Elements and Base Defense elements on LZ Thunder. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Thunder where they continue to provide direct fire support for the (1-20 Infantry Battalion.) At 0800hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS760308. At 1000hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS755299. At 1937hrs Recon Platoon reports location at BS746295 with ambushes at BS746293. And RF Company is at BS815356 with ambush at BS811340.
